David S. Rose


David S. Rose is a serial entrepreneur and active angel investor in New York. He is founder and CEO of Gust. An Inc. 500 CEO (of boom-era wireless company AirMedia), Rose is an active early stage technology investor. He is the founder and Chairman of New York Angels, a large technology investment angel group; Managing Principal of Rose Tech Ventures, which invests in scalable, Internet-based businesses; Chair of the Finance, Entrepreneurship and Economics program at Singularity University; and Chairman of Egret Capital Partners, a middle market private equity firm. He founded a technology incubator in New York City, is a director of the 19,000 member NY Tech Meetup, and is an active keynote speaker on technology and finance issues.

David Rose has been a longtime player in the development of the ‘Silicon Alley’ technology community in New York, from his initial involvement with the first online communities in the 1970s, through founding one of the first personal computer training companies in the 1980s, one of the first wireless data information networks in the 1990s, and the first global angel investing platform in the 2000s.

Described by BusinessWeek as a “world-conquering entrepreneur” and by Crain’s New York Business as “the father of angel investing in New York,” David is one of the New York City’s most active early stage investors. David is founder of the New York Angels, Managing Partner of Rose Tech Ventures, and CEO of Gust (formerly AngelSoft). In addition to his roles as an angel investor and entrepreneur, David has served as the Finance, Entrepreneurship & Economics Track Chair of the NASA and Google co-sponsored Singularity University.
